Every week Anna and Raven are discovering new words. They could be from the internet or teenage slang or simply a term they had just missed.
We will compile them here. The word, the definition and how to use it in a sentence.
Anna & Raven Dictionary Definitions:
SLEEPUNDER: A child’s birthday party but instead of the child “sleeping over”, they get picked up before bedtime. So, it’s still all the fun things you would do at a traditional sleepover, but there’s no actual sleeping, and you get your child home in their own bed by 9pm.
IKR on text: I KNOW RIGHT.
MORNING SKINNY: When someone looks or feel slimmer first thing in the day, before they've had anything to eat and, often, after going to the bathroom.
NOSE COVER: When your tween or teen covers their nose in a family photo because they don’t want to be in the photo. This way they satisfy their parent’s want for them to be part of the photo, but are still hiding their face.
SECONDHAND EMBARRASSMENT: When you’re embarrassed for someone else because they’re making a fool of themselves. It’s so cringey that you feel like it’s you that’s doing the embarrassing thing.
GLAZING: Glazing is when you overhype and over-compliment someone to the point where it's really annoying and cringeworthy. It's comparable to being a “suck-up.”
SITUATIONSHIP: A romantic relationship that is not well defined or exclusive.
GRAY DIVORCE: People that are getting divorced when they are in their senior years. According to stats, one in 10 people getting divorced today are 65 or older. That’s a record high.
